About The Position

WALK-IN INTERVIEWS IMMEDIATE OPENINGS! YOUTH COUNSELORS FOR ALL SHIFTS! Attend our OPEN INTERVIEWS to learn more about how you can help assure every child becomes a successful adult. No appointment required! When does this take place? Each Tuesday of the Month What Time? 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Where do I go? Four Oaks 5400 Kirkwood Blvd SW Cedar Rapids, IA 5204 What you will do? As a Youth Counselor you will provide direct care services and coverage to meet the needs of our clients. This includes but is not limited to ensuring safety & supervision, skill building, behavioral management and communications within the team. Specific responsibilities include: Provide supervision and treatment intervention. Establish a therapeutic relationship with the client based on trust & respect. Evaluate the impact of behavioral, group treatment, and life-space interventions while providing direction & feedback. Serve as a positive role model and agent of change for the youth. Safely transport youth to/from program activities and community resources while monitoring behaviors. Provide individualized reinforcement to client behavior to teach and reinforce adaptive behaviors. Utilize a proactive/preventive method of intercepting problems before they escalate. Assist clients in developing insight into their behaviors so that they learn to self-identify and self correct.

Requirements

  • You will need to be at least 21 years of age and possess a High School Diploma or GED to qualify
