As the Youth Counselor, you will provide family-centered mental health counseling, support, crisis intervention, and case management services for children and their families. Youth Counselors are members of a multi-disciplinary team and provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive services in the community at times and locations convenient to the family. The Short-term Assessment of Resources and Treatment (START) is a 6-9 month program that supports youth and children (ages 4-19) facing significant psychological and behavioral challenges. Referrals come through the Full-Service Partnership of the Behavioral Health Services Department of Contra Costa County. START emphasizes crisis stabilization and linking clients to long-term services. Services will be provided almost exclusively in the community and the client's home environment in Contra Costa County.
