As a Youth Counselor, you will provide direct care services and coverage to meet the needs of our clients. This includes ensuring safety and supervision, skill building, behavioral management, and communication within the team. You will establish a therapeutic relationship with the clients based on trust and respect, evaluate the impact of behavioral and group treatment, and serve as a positive role model and agent of change for the youth. You will also be responsible for safely transporting youth to and from program activities and community resources while monitoring their behaviors. The role requires you to provide individualized reinforcement to client behavior to teach and reinforce adaptive behaviors, utilize a proactive/preventive method of intercepting problems before they escalate, and assist clients in developing insight into their behaviors so that they learn to self-identify and self-correct.
