About The Position

The Youth Coordinator at CAIR Sacramento Valley is responsible for community outreach, youth and volunteer engagement, and event planning. This full-time position involves building relationships with various organizations and coordinating outreach efforts to enhance the organization's impact in the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Self-directed individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple ongoing initiatives.
  • Experience conducting outreach and working with volunteers.
  • Familiarity, knowledge, and experience working with the American Muslim community.
  • Work experience with a nonprofit organization or in a related field.
  • Willingness and flexibility to change job requirements as the team grows.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Islamic centers, MSAs, youth groups, and others to advance CAIR-Sacramento Valley/Central California's work.
  • Coordinate a comprehensive mosque outreach plan including seasonal development campaigns such as Ramadan, Friday prayer, and banquet.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with mosques to increase and expand outreach efforts.
  • Coordinate Volunteer and Intern Programs and establish CAIR Mosque Coordinator program, including identifying and engaging youth and volunteers.
  • Establish lists of projects and volunteer activities, supervise and/or assign volunteers to staff, provide support and training to volunteers, and maintain volunteer database.
  • Develop partnerships with Muslim organizations, civil rights nonprofits, and other organizations to increase outreach.
  • Attend relevant organizations' events usually at night/weekends activities and meetings as needed.
  • Assist in the promotion and delivery of CAIR-SV/CC programs for various departments including banquets, public education programs, interactive workshops, training sessions, and forums.
  • Help organize events as needed: securing a venue, food, audiovisual, travel arrangements, and other event-related matters.
  • Maintain an annual events calendar and events timeline.
  • Maintain, replenish and distribute marketing and educational material and provide up-to-date inventory tracking.
