About The Position

The Youth Conservation Crew (YCC) Office Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of the YCC program through various organizational, administrative, and logistical tasks. This position is designed for an individual who is motivated and organized, providing an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to gain experience in conservation and environmental education. The role involves managing equipment, coordinating communications, supporting event planning, and maintaining accurate records, all while fostering an inclusive environment for youth participants.

Requirements

  • Ability to promote equity, diversity, inclusion and provide culturally responsive leadership within the program.
  • Experience working with diverse youth aged 14-19 in programs focused on nature, the outdoors, conservation, environmental education, and/or outdoor education.
  • Experience in youth programming and/or conservation work in a leadership position.
  • Experience working in an administrative position supporting field-based programming in nature and/or conservation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams), Adobe PDF, and various web-based programs.
  • A valid state driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to become certified within two months of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and track YCC equipment, supplies, and storage areas.
  • Draft, edit, and send approved communications; support the creation of YCC reports.
  • Assist with YCC Saturday planning, including Smartsheet management and timesheet tracking.
  • Organize and archive YCC files and photos.
  • Track and troubleshoot YCC-related technology.
  • Schedule meetings with sponsors and assist in YCC and Environmental Education recruitment efforts.
  • Update YCC and EE Outlook Calendars; assist with editing YCC print materials and program documents.
  • Support summer staff onboarding and training, resupply materials, and substitute for crew leaders as needed.
  • Help update and edit EE Internship materials.
  • Assist YCC staff and alumni, and perform other programmatic duties as assigned.
