About The Position

Our Residential Program Specialists are Direct Support Professionals who provide guidance, structure, and mentorship to adolescents with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and co-occurring behavioral or mental health challenges. This is not just a job—it’s a chance to shape the future for youth navigating some of life’s toughest challenges. Specialists in this program play a critical role in helping adolescents develop the skills they need to succeed, from building social connections to practicing healthy coping strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Positive Role Modeling: Supporting teens through supervision, mentorship, and consistent structure.
  • Skill Development: Teaching social, emotional, and daily living skills that foster independence and confidence.
  • Behavior Support: Implementing proactive strategies and, when necessary, safe physical interventions to maintain safety for youth and others.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging participation in school, recreational activities, and positive peer relationships.
  • Health & Safety: Assisting with medication management, health routines, and overall well-being.
  • Documentation: Maintaining thorough, accurate data collection to track progress and support individualized plans.
