About The Position

Establishes and maintains effective relationships with youth, demonstrates appropriate boundaries, and ensures appropriate care and supervision.

Requirements

• Compassionate caregivers wanted to supervise children and youth in a short term shelter.
• High School Diploma or equivalent degree and a minimum of 1 year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting.
• Must care about the safety and well-being of youth, and be able to provide structure, consistency, and kindness.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted California driver’s license.
• Must be able to successfully complete and maintain required certifications and training including, but not limited to, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and First Aid/CPR.
• Must be able to understand and follow policy and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acquires, maintains, teaches and demonstrates knowledge of Prevention of Sexual Abuse (PSA)and Sexual Harassment standards at care provider facilities, evidence-based practices, and trauma-informed care and maintains a professional environment that is consistent with Title 22, licensing regulations, and established agency policies.
• Demonstrate effective and consistent Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
• Maintain vigilant supervision of youth placed in 24/7 care.
• Actively engage and encourage youth towards their treatment goals and in daily living.
• Regularly transport youth to appointments, recreation activities, court, family visits, etc
• Prepare timely and accurate documentation.
• Understand and retain instructions for complex tasks
