About The Position

As a Youth Care Worker, you will facilitate a positive living environment for our teenage residents by offering support, encouragement, and guidance. The ability to understand the perspective of others is critical and staff must truly care about the success of youth. You will work alongside residents to support achievement of treatment goals through engagement in healthy and productive daily activities by doing the following: Leading daily programming activities and promoting positive participation Engage with residents through recreational activities, groups, meals, and other aspects of daily living Responding to critical resident needs as they arise Participate in developing and maintaining a therapeutic, safe, and supportive environment Actively participating in house and team meetings Attending initial and ongoing training sessions As a youth care worker, you will enjoy these benefits: Initial and continuous training Flexible scheduling $1 per hour weekend shift differential pay Double holiday pay Retirement match and planning No cost Employee assistance program This job is idea for someone with experience: Caregiving Working in schools or childcare Working in law enforcement or corrections Working at youth camps Volunteering in a helping role Some of the requirements of the position include: Must be at least 21 years of age Must hold a valid driver’s license Ability to type and document daily activities Must be caring and resilient Current student or graduate with a degree in human services, behavioral counseling, criminal justice, or a related field preferred but not required Previous experience working with an adolescent population preferred but not required The minimum shift requirement is one weekday shift per week and four weekend shifts per month. Additional shifts may be available for individuals interested in working additional hours above the minimum requirement. Typical shifts for this position include: Weekdays - 3pm to 10pm Weekends - 9am to 3pm, 3pm to11pm, and midnight to 6am Holidays (rotation) - 9am to 3pm, 3pm to11pm, and midnight to 6am

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to type and document daily activities
  • Must be caring and resilient

Nice To Haves

  • Current student or graduate with a degree in human services, behavioral counseling, criminal justice, or a related field preferred but not required
