A Little About Our Program… Duval Academy is a structured, non-secure residential treatment program that serves adolescent males ages 14 to 18 who have been adjudicated. Youth receive individual and group mental health services, in addition to substance abuse counseling services. As a Youth Care Worker, you will provide direct supervision to all adolescent males ages 14 -18. You will serve as a role model and provide support & structure to the residents in our care.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required
• Over the age of 21
• Maturity, empathy and patience
• Be special – Not everyone can do what we do
• The ideal candidate must have the ability to adjust to a fast-paced environment and follow proper protocols
• A minimum of one-year experience working with at risk youth in a juvenile setting or related setting

Responsibilities

• Supervise residents in their daily routines providing rewards and consequences as prescribed by our behavior management system
• Maintain routine order on dorm unit and during activities
• Address group concerns according to Positive Peer Culture standards and elicit positive change for residents
• Complete assessments, reviews and other documentation in a timely manner
• Adheres and participates in the safety program.
• Other duties as assigned
