About The Position

Nexus Family Healing is hiring a Youth Care Professional for our Boy's Group Home in Onamia, MN! New Trails Group Home is located in Onamia, MN and is a part of Nexus-Mille Lacs. We offer a trauma-informed, family-centered, nationally recognized treatment for struggling teenage boys in a Group Home setting where we work with our youth in character growth, emotional healing, and social maturity while confronting the core issues that resulted in their placement. Effective and positive behavior techniques are incorporated to promote healing in addition to addressing underlying trauma and mental health needs. As a Youth Care Professional, you will: Provide supervision of client daily activities and behavior according to established trauma-informed, strengths-based guidelines and procedures Participate with coworkers as a team on implementation of trauma-informed, strengths-based treatment plans and therapeutic services Ensure clients’ emotional and physical safety and collaborate with coworkers to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean, strengths-based, and therapeutic Participate in off-campus client activities and assist in the transportation of client for home visits, doctor appointments, planned recreational activities, etc. Work effectively with clients’ families/support networks to reinforce positive family partnerships; follow established protocols in the use of family engagement and involvement techniques At Nexus Family Healing, our voices and actions are focused on recognizing, affirming and respecting people of every race, ethnic background, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender expression and faith. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 21+ years of age
  • Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Family Healing driving requirements
  • Experience working with families and trauma-exposed children and adolescents in a residential treatment/counseling capacity
  • Must successfully pass a DHS criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with families and trauma-exposed children in a group home setting highly preferred
