About The Position

✨Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth!  Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Youth Build Worksite Crew Leader at Gulf Coast Trades Center in New Waverly, Texas. ✨Are you looking for a rewarding career where you can help improve the lives of at-risk youth? Gulf Coast Trades Center (GCTC) is a private, non-profit educational institution dedicated to improving the economic independence and social well-being of disadvantaged and adjudicated youth.  GCTC provides male youth ages 15-18 with a comprehensive program of education, counseling, job referrals, residential and community services.  This matrix of services is provided by our dedicated staff in a “no fail” atmosphere, which emphasized the worth of each individual. The Worksite Crew Leader works as a staff member of the Walker Montgomery C.D.C Youth Build program.  Primarily responsible for providing onsite supervision and teaching Youth Build trainees/participants in the construction of homes.  The Youth Build Crew Leader reports to the Construction Manager. After 40 years of improving the lives of youth, we are looking for passionate advocates to continue the legacy of helping young people become successful adults. Requirements

  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Five (5) years verifiable hands-on experience in construction and general carpentry, preferred.
  • If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.
  • Have the ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.
  • Have the ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects.
  • Have the ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.
  • Have the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing.
  • Have the able to work 40 hours per week with the possibility of a varied schedule.
  • Be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Have excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Have the ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships.
  • Have the ability to provide exemplary customer service to all employees and outside constituents.
  • Have the ability to function independently and as a member of a team in a multi-task environment.
  • Be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing business conditions.
  • Be proficient in the use of computers and associated software.
