Youth Basketball Referee
About The Position
Bring the game to life as a YMCA Youth Basketball Referee! In this high -energy role, you’ll do more than blow the whistle—you’ll help young athletes learn the game, build confidence, and experience the joy of sports in a fun, fair, and age -appropriate way. YMCA referees set the tone on the court by promoting sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork, all while ensuring a safe and positive environment for every player. Games are played on Saturdays from 8:00 AM–1:00 PM on the following dates: January 10 January 17 January 24 January 31 February 14 February 21 If you love basketball, and want to make a meaningful impact in your community, this is your chance to be part of the action!
Responsibilities
- Officiate youth basketball games according to YMCA rules and philosophy.
- Ensure a safe and respectful playing environment for all participants.
- Enforce rules consistently while providing age -appropriate instruction and guidance.
- Communicate effectively with players, coaches, parents, and staff.
- Model positive sportsmanship and YMCA core values.
