About The Position

The Youth Art Instructor position at Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) involves teaching art classes to youth of all ages and backgrounds. Requirements

  • Must have formal art training.
  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field preferred; degree in progress is acceptable.
  • Past experience working with youth.
  • Previous art instruction experience required for lead instructors.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Spanish speaking a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate art curriculum and lesson plans.
  • Teach art techniques, such as drawing, painting, fiber arts, sewing, and mixed media.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and orderly learning space.
  • Prepare and organize art supplies and materials.
  • Assist with classroom maintenance (cleanliness, organization, etc.) and administrative tasks as needed (attendance, communication with families, etc.).
