About The Position

The Youth and Young Adults Pastor/Director provides leadership and oversight for Rock Church Youth and Young Adult Ministries (YYA), which includes Middle School, High School, and College-Age/Young Adult groups (ages 18–29). This position is responsible for guiding team members and attendees to ensure the Rock Church pathway is being implemented effectively by growing disciples who use their gifts to know God, grow in community, and make a difference . In partnership with the Central YYA Department, the YYA Pastor/ Director plays a key role in advancing the vision and direction of the ministry, fostering spiritual growth, and developing leaders. This individual must be deeply committed to the Lord Jesus Christ, to Rock Church, and to their own ongoing spiritual and character development. This position reports directly to the Campus Pastor.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and/or divinity degree preferred, but not required
Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and provide excellent customer service
Read, write, spell, and communicate clearly in English
Work productively, both independently and collaboratively with others
Follow verbal and written instructions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office for MAC (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality as appropriate
Ability to understand and relate to youth, families, and young adults
Well-developed motivational skill set and demonstrated servant leadership qualities
Self-motivated, flexible and goal oriented
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment
A heart that deeply desires to serve the Lord
Maintains a high standard of personal holiness, living as a consistent and Christlike example for YYA to follow, and conducting oneself above reproach at all times
If married, demonstrates an unwavering love for their spouse through both words and actions. The spouse should be supportive of the individual’s calling and ministry, and both should be committed to ongoing spiritual growth
Teachable and approachable; listens well before speaking and demonstrates loyalty to Rock Church
Organizational and Spiritual Requirements: Demonstrate Christ-centered behavior at all times by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity
Utilizes the principles of Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4:15 to resolve differences of opinion with others
Successful completion of thorough pre-employment references and background checks, which include: social security verification, Local, State & Federal criminal conviction records search, national security database, and sex offender registry
Attendance at all mandatory meetings and events. This includes serving at Good Friday, Easter and Christmas services as well as the annual volunteer appreciation event and Just 1
Is a member of Rock Church (or willing to transfer membership) and demonstrates faithful stewardship through regular tithing
Regular involvement in Rock Church activities, ministries and events
Signed acknowledgment of the Rock’s Statement of Faith
Ability to interpret and adhere to Rock Church’s policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
Self-motivated and goal-oriented; exercises good judgment and demonstrates flexibility and innovation

Responsibilities

Responsible for the leadership and direction of the entire YYA Ministry at the assigned Campus
Responsible for overseeing a YYA ministry model that will make disciples that use their gifts to know God, grow in community, and make a difference
Responsible for recruitment, training, discipleship and mobilization of team members, group leaders, and student leaders
Provide general oversight for the spiritual, emotional and relational development of coaches, captains, student leaders and team members within their ministry
Responsible for the execution and development of all local YYA services. Including but not limited to Sunday Youth, Youth Midweek, and Rally Local
Provide support to all Central YYA initiatives. Including but not limited to Rally Night, Future SD, Parent Connects, Refuels, etc…
Maintains and grows a network of YYA small groups and clubs; both on campus and off-site
Ensures all ministry numbers are accurately tracked and reported weekly
Responsible for the upkeep of all financial and legal requirements of the ministry
Able to provide biblical guidance to team members and YYA
Follows MarComm department procedures to ensure all YYA Ministry and event information is current and communicated to staff and congregation
Help plan and organize camps, team member enrichments, and parent gatherings
Work collaboratively with the Central YYA team to determine best practices in ministry
Collaborate with the Central YYA team to implement new strategies, curriculum, and or changes
Create & maintain connections with local MS, HS, and College Age students to foster community involvement between the Rock YYA Ministry and the local schools
Work directly with the Campus Pastor to coordinate calendars, curriculum and implement overall Central YYA Vision
Work in partnership with campus Rock Kid’s Pastor/Director on programs that bridge ministries together. Including but not limited to Launch Party, Parent Connect, etc…
Participate in all campus related tasks requested by the Campus Pastor. Including but not limited to Sunday hosting, team huddle devotionals, campus meetings, campus events, etc…
