The Division of Youth and Family and the Salt Lake City’s Mayor’s Office are pleased to offer summer intern positions. Applicants must be 16 to 18-year-old teens living in Salt Lake City and attending Salt Lake City School District (SLCSD) high schools. The Division of Youth and Family has developed a strong working relationship with the Salt Lake City School District Career and Technical Education (CTE) department. CTE Career and College Pathways show students a direct connection between doing well in high school and being able to transition smoothly to postsecondary opportunities or getting a good job when they graduate. Students who focus on a Career Pathway acquire the skills necessary for entry into well-paid careers with high potential for rapid financial growth, increased levels of responsibility, and a high degree of personal satisfaction. About the Internship: Intern participants will bring a new perspective into the workplace and help develop our future workforce. Salt Lake City staff will mentor the interns and help them explore future career opportunities. Interns will be assigned to a participating City department based on availability and interest. The Youth and Family Summer Internship will run from June 3, 2026 – July 17, 2026, and June 3, 2026 – July 30, 2026, depending on internship placement. Participants should be available during this full 6-to-8-week time period to qualify. Interns can work up to 25 hours per week, and no more than 128 hours per month. These positions are at-will, part-time, non-benefit eligible positions. Pay Rate: $15.11/hr. Important: Early application submittal is encouraged.
