About The Position

Atlantic Fields is seeking a Youth and Family Program Leader to join the Outdoor Pursuits Department. The Youth and Family Program Leader is responsible for delivering an engaging, fun, and educational experience for youth participants and families through Outdoor Pursuits programming. This role is hands-on and leadership-focused, encompassing the planning, organization, and execution of youth camps, family activities, and special events while ensuring the highest level of safety and service. In this role, you will help create the Discovery Land Company experience for members, children, and fellow employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working with children strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including working outdoors and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Outdoor Pursuits Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols for youth and family programming.
  • Ensure the safety, care, and supervision of all children signed into your care.
  • Eliminate risks and hazards for children and members at all times.
  • Conduct and log all required daily and monthly safety checks.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional program areas.
  • Secure, maintain, and account for all equipment daily.
  • Assist with opening and closing of Outdoor Pursuits areas.
  • Drive members and children safely around the property when required.
  • Attend morning briefings and end-of-day shutdowns as scheduled by management.
  • Be punctual for all shifts, activities, and scheduled programs.
  • Perform additional duties throughout the Club as assigned by management.
  • Organize and manage day-to-day operations of the Youth and Family Programs.
  • Oversee Youth and Family Program Leaders and support their development.
  • Plan camps, lessons, activities, and special events.
  • Communicate with members via email, text, or phone regarding programs and bookings.
  • Complete bookings and reservations using the Outdoor Pursuits booking system.
  • Charge members for services and record gratuities when applicable.
  • Write schedules and input them into booking and payroll systems.
  • Manage purchase orders, procurement, and supply ordering.
  • Conduct inventory counts and manage stock control.
  • Submit invoices and maintain administrative records.
  • Write daily reports for management.
  • Edit, update, and develop SOPs as needed.
  • Greet members and families warmly and professionally.
  • Facilitate games, lessons, sports, and activities for children and families.
  • Create and execute structured itineraries for camps and daily programming.
  • Set up and break down all equipment and activity areas.
  • Ensure all children enrolled have signed waivers from a parent or guardian.
  • Feed children meals according to dietary restrictions when applicable.
  • Teach new skills and educate children about sports, wellness, and the environment.
  • Ensure the safety and enjoyment of members and children during all activities.
  • Keep towels, sunscreen, and program supplies stocked and organized.
