However, we are also actively seeking summer seasonal candidates , with the option to continue part-time beyond the summer. Company: Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bay & Lakes Region Location: David G. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience working with youth.
  • A compassionate, patient, and flexible attitude, with strong problem-solving and crisis-management skills.
  • Experience using behavioral management techniques and supporting youth in challenging situations.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • A commitment to continuous learning, especially in trauma-informed practices, diversity, and inclusion.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant coursework or degrees in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or Counseling.
  • Advanced knowledge of child/adolescent development, social emotional learning, and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience with outcome evaluation and continuous improvement in a human services setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide essential support to youth through engagement and intervention, utilizing Emotional Wellness core competencies and restorative practices.
  • Role model positive behaviors and empower youth with valuable life skills, promoting self-esteem and providing alternatives to negative behavior.
  • Work collaboratively with the Emotional Wellness team to track, monitor, and provide tailored interventions to youth who need additional support.
  • Create a calming, supportive environment by utilizing the Zen Den for interventions and skill-building.
  • Maintain detailed case notes and track progress to ensure the success of each youth you work with.
