About The Position

The Youth Advocate is a member of the Supportive Housing Team who provides assessments, supports the action plans and goals identified by young people who are working towards the goal of independent living. The Youth Advocate’s role is to formulate and implement appropriate service and permanency plans for clients and families on their caseload, document all interventions and required reports in a timely and professional manner and provide instruction, structure and skill-building opportunities to the residents in collaboration with each residents Education and Employment Specialist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related human services field/MSW preferred with at least four (4) years social work experience or case management.
  • Experience in child welfare or work with older adolescents.
  • Ability to function successfully on interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills including the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks.
  • Must be comfortable working in community settings.
  • High level of personal accountability for the quality and impact of work.
  • Must understand and Adhere to WDSS/OCFS regulatory standards (familiarity with all policies and procedures and ensure they are applied.
