About The Position

Position Purpose: This position is responsible for providing outstanding member service through implementing camp activities, and monitoring fitness center rules and safety enforcement. Activities include: leading camp lessons, swimming with campers, plan activities and projects, and attend off site field trips.

Requirements

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification required upon hire or obtained within one (1) months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Greets all members and youth participants in a professional manner as they arrive for camp activities.
  • Promotes all aspects and benefits of the facility in a positive manner and by example.
  • Communicates with youth in a friendly and positive manner at all times.
  • Is knowledgeable of camp programs and teaches class concepts in each session. Research may be necessary.
  • Is available to ensure safety in camp activities and events. Tasks would include, but are not limited to, child check-in/check-out, parent/guardian communication, etc.
  • Keeps activity area organized and clean and completes cleaning tasks as assigned for each session.
  • Keeps equipment repaired and functional, informing supervisor of maintenance needs.
  • Monitors youth and camp participants to create positive interactions and a fun environment for activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Some of these events may take place off-site. Must be able to provide own transportation to those sites.
  • This position includes a rotating "Person In Charge" (PIC) role that alternates daily among scheduled camp staff.
  • The PIC carries an increased level of responsibility for the campers and overall camp operations.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reporting any issues to the Camp Coordinator, supporting campers and fellow camp staff, ensuring tasks and activities run smoothly, and resolving minor problems as they arise.
