About The Position

The YoungLives coordinator serves, in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures established by mission leadership, to develop and sustain YoungLives ministries in the respective areas. This role includes essential duties such as spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry, and ministry support. The coordinator is expected to actively engage in the spiritual life of the Young Life community, lead teams in spiritual development, raise financial support, and ensure adherence to Young Life policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Commitment to a growing relationship with Christ.
  • Ability to clearly communicate the Gospel and train others accordingly.
  • Ability to clearly communicate Young Life’s mission and the vision for YoungLives.
  • Understand the unique issues faced by pregnant and parenting teen moms.
  • Proven relational skills with both adolescents and adults.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel as the job requires.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred.
  • Completion of training as determined by supervisor.
  • Participation in additional training or experiences if deemed necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word.
  • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
  • Assist in recruiting and training mentors, childcare and other volunteers to build leadership teams that reflect the community.
  • Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners and camping to mentors, childcare and other volunteers.
  • Raise financial support as directed and maintain good donor care practices.
  • Communicate ministry updates and progress to personal donor partners.
  • Develop relationships with schools, teen parenting programs, crisis pregnancy centers and other applicable community organizations.
  • Actively engage in all three levels of contact work.
  • Lead a team to plan and implement a regular outreach meeting with excellence.
  • Manage finances with stewardship, accountability and transparency using the mission-wide applications.
