YMCA Water Fitness Instructor

This position is responsible for the instruction of patrons on water safety and proper fitness techniques based on AEA standards. Requirements
- CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen and Blood Borne Pathogen training required within 60 days of employment.
- Child Abuse Prevention training required before/on first day of working with consumers.
- At least 18 years of age
- AEA certified or willing to be certified.
Nice To Haves
- Fitness or teaching experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.
- Complete required abuse risk management training.
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth.
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Teach scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time.
- Ensure safety standards are met and facility policies are adhered to.
- Assist lifeguards in the event of an emergency.
- Instruct patrons on effective workout methods.
- Prepare appropriate equipment, music, and handouts if applicable for each class.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
