About The Position

The YMCA Before & After School Youth Leader is responsible for supervising and mentoring children aged 4-12 in a safe and engaging environment. This part-time role involves developing and implementing various program activities, providing homework assistance, and supporting the social-emotional and physical needs of students. The position offers meaningful work within one of the largest non-profits, with opportunities for professional development and career advancement.

Requirements

• Must be 18 or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• AA/AS degree, 48 college units, or ability to pass District's Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide proficiency exam.
• CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of childcare experience (Preferred).
• CPR Certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise program participants ages 4-12, ensuring their guidance and safety at all times.
• Develop and implement program activities that may include sports, art projects, science, and other enrichment clubs that utilize your skills and interests.
• Provide homework assistance.
• Provide positive behavior guidance and youth mentoring that supports the developmental, social-emotional and physical needs of all students.
