About The Position

The YL Staff Associate I position at Young Life involves learning how to effectively carry out and manage Young Life ministry through both formal training and direct field ministry experience. The role requires a commitment to spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry, and ministry support. Staff will engage in various ministry functions, including leading teams, developing personal growth plans, and maintaining relationships within the church community. The position is part-time, requiring 20 hours a week, with a salary range of $13,000-$19,000 annually, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Experience in direct ministry.
• Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life.
• Seek and maintain relationships within a church community.
• Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
• Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
• Recruit and train new leaders to build a leadership team.
• Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
• Assist in training leaders and developing a yearly ministry strategy.
• Raise financial support and maintain good donor care practices.
• Communicate ministry updates to personal donor partners.
• Network and develop strategic relationships with key adults in the community.
• Plan and execute area fundraising events.
• Engage in all levels of contact work.
• Lead a team to plan and conduct Young Life club and Campaigners.
• Implement a summer and school-season camping strategy.
• Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year.
• Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures.
• Manage finances with stewardship and accountability.
• Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders, and donors.
• Provide clear and professional communication.
• Set yearly strategic ministry plans and review them regularly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
