The position involves monitoring and analyzing yield performance across production lines, utilizing structured problem-solving techniques to address yield excursions. The role requires deep dives into large manufacturing datasets using SQL, JMP, and other data analysis tools, as well as building and maintaining predictive yield models and applying machine learning techniques for early detection of defects or deviations. A strong understanding of semiconductor process flows and device physics for optoelectronic components is essential, along with collaboration with process engineers to refine process windows and reduce variability. The candidate will work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Quality teams to coordinate efforts and communicate results, leading cross-functional teams during yield improvement and cost reduction initiatives. Additionally, the role includes serving as a technical liaison with key customers to present yield updates, address concerns, and support audits or joint improvement projects. The candidate will also support the rapid ramp-up of new optoelectronic products, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production with high initial yields, conducting risk assessments, and driving DFM (Design for Manufacturability) recommendations.
