About The Position

Exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced medical team within a growing federally qualified community health center. HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc. “The Heart of Our Community” provides comprehensive services including adult/pediatric medical care, health education, health assessment and screenings, gynecology, cardiology, behavioral health, substance use treatment, and adult/pediatric dental care. YHAC (Youth Health Advisory Council) Summary: Under the general direction of the CHRO, the YHAC Coordinator leads the YHAC by recruiting and mentoring students, facilitating meetings, coordinating education workshops, and guiding youth-led health projects. Coordinates the YHAC calendar of workshops and trainings on adolescent health, public health careers, and wellness topics in partnership with school staff, healthcare professionals, and community organizations. The role also builds strong relationships with high schools, manages scholarship opportunities, and develops internship placements within the organization. The YHAC Coordinator will also function as a member of the HR and Training teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, nonprofit management, business management, education, or related field.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience related to workforce development, training coordination, grant support, project management, or program administration or graduate degree in the same.
  • Exceptional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
  • Must submit a CORI release form and demonstrate proof of being free from disqualifying information.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across YHAC and project management.
  • Comfort working with diverse populations, including youth participants.
  • Must possess good critical thinking skills to identify both issues and solutions.
  • Emphasis on process improvement and commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Results-oriented professional with well-developed time management skills that can work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills to communicate effectively with various departments, staff, community agencies, school system, grantors and community members to understand needs and provide actionable information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of a community health center.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a community health center, nonprofit, or public-sector environment preferred but not required.
  • Experience with HRSA, state, or foundation-funded workforce programs preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with youth or early-career workforce initiatives preferred but not required.
