Yellow Iron Mechanic
About The Position
Join Our Team as a Heavy Equipment / Yellow Iron Mechanic! Location: Heart of Florida Landfill - Lake Panasoffkee, FL Schedule: Monday-Friday | Saturdays as needed Pay:$35-$45 hour DOE What You'll Do: Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment. Diagnose and fix electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems. Work with a fleet of yellow iron equipment including compactors, dozers, excavators, motor graders, water trucks, and articulated dump trucks. Operate bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor graders, and scrapers. (Compactor experience is a plus!) Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with diesel engines and yellow iron equipment.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate technical service information.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions.
Nice To Haves
- CDL preferred (but not required at time of hire).
- Compactor experience is a plus!
