About The Position

The Yard Switcher position at thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services involves providing timely delivery of products to customers while representing the company in a positive manner. The role requires ensuring that the truck is in proper working order and performing various duties as required. Key responsibilities include using a Radio Frequency Gun, verifying that correct items are loaded, performing inspections, assisting in loading and unloading, maintaining truck service, completing necessary paperwork, operating overhead cranes and forklifts, and providing feedback regarding customer and delivery issues. This position requires a commercial driver's license (CDL) and has been identified as 'safety sensitive', necessitating successful completion of pre-employment drug testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Applicable motor vehicle licensing (CDL class A and/or B or class 3 in Canada).
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds on a continuous basis.
  • Safety mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years driving experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely delivery of product to customers.
  • Represent ThyssenKrupp Materials, NA positively.
  • Ensure truck is in proper working order.
  • Use Radio Frequency Gun for operations.
  • Verify correct items are loaded on the truck.
  • Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Ensure truck is properly secured and not overweight.
  • Protect material from outdoor elements.
  • Deliver product and paperwork to customers courteously and timely.
  • Clean up debris caused by loading/unloading.
  • Maintain truck's overall service and perform required inspections.
  • Complete necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Collect COD money owed and ensure proper handling.
  • Provide feedback on customer and delivery problems.
  • Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality.
  • Train others when required.
