About The Position

The Yard Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the recycling yard, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity. This role involves managing a team of yard workers, coordinating logistics, and maintain equipment to facilitate the processing and sorting of recycling materials.

Requirements

High School Diploma Required
1-3 years of experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Lead, Motivate, and supervise a team of yard workers, providing guidance and support to achieve operational goals.
Conduct regular meetings to communicate expectations, safety procedures, and performance targets.
Coordinate the intake, processing, and sorting of recyclable materials, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Oversee equipment maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure an adequate supply of materials for processing.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of the yard facilities and equipment to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
Provide training on safety procedures and best practices to all yard personnel.
Plan and coordinate logistics for inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling deliveries and managing transportation arrangements.
Optimize workflow processes to maximize throughput and minimize bottlenecks in operations.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of activities and timely completion of tasks.
Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and purity of recycled materials.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor the quality of processed materials and identify areas for improvement.
