About The Position

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a hardware store, warehouse, or yard operations role preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Knowledge of building materials, tools, and hardware products is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and scheduling.
  • Forklift operation experience (certification preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all yard operations, including receiving, stocking, and organizing building materials, lumber, and hardware supplies.
  • Ensure orders are picked, loaded, and delivered accurately and on time.
  • Implement and maintain processes for optimal organization and safety within the yard.
  • Monitor and report on yard equipment, scheduling regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Oversee a team of yard team members, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Schedule and assign daily tasks to staff, ensuring efficient workflow and coverage.
  • Enforce safety standards and company policies to maintain a positive and secure work environment.
  • Assist customers with locating and loading materials, providing friendly and knowledgeable service.
  • Resolve customer inquiries or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with sales associates to fulfill customer orders and special requests.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Coordinate with the store manager or purchasing team to restock items as needed.
  • Minimize inventory loss by ensuring proper handling and storage of materials.
