About The Position

Dobbs Equipment is seeking a Yard Specialist. This position is responsible for assisting in the efficiency and security of daily yard or branch activity. The position requires basic knowledge of heavy machinery to conduct initial inspection of equipment, and record information such as fuel. The ability to work outside during long periods of time for our customers will be essential to complete the needs of our customers. Managing associated equipment paperwork such as transfer attachments and other related equipment paperwork per agreements is an essential function of this role. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance and operation.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively with teammates.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Must be able to self-manage/self-motivate.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Quick learner with the ability to think out of the box.
• Overnight travel less than 5% (Training).

Nice To Haves

• Forklift certification preferred or will train.
• Overhead crane preferred or will train.
• Wash rack and steam cleaners’ systems preferred or will train.
• Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Work alone with a limited amount of supervision.
• Complete machine inspections.
• Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments.
• Participate in all training programs as directed by the General Manager and/or Service Manager.
• Always conduct self to present a professional image of the dealership.
