About The Position

The Yard Scanner position is responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are scanned into the correct block for accuracy of locations. This position will be required to operate scanner equipment, company golf carts, vans, and small buses in a safe and productive manner.

Responsibilities

  • Scan vehicles into the correct location
  • Update locations daily into the stock blocks, staging areas, etc.
  • Have a good understanding of daily tasks, and perform in a safe manner
  • Conduct inspections on golf carts, vans or buses, before operating
  • Operate radios and scanner equipment properly
  • Report all major issues found with units to department supervisor or manager
  • Ensure all units are scanned into correct the staging areas or stock blocks
  • Check scanner often to make sure they are scanning into the correct location
  • Scan units when possible into the locations using live or batch mode on the scanner
  • Communicate issues found with units that can not be updated into location, so issues can be resolved in a timely manner
  • Document any issues found and/or corrected with vehicles in stock blocks or staging areas
  • Complete inspection sheets and submit them to supervisor on a daily basis
  • Conduct daily tasks in a safe and productive manner, with minimal errors
  • Notify supervisor if assigned area needs assistance
  • Notify supervisor when leaving post or assigned work area
  • Make sure that any company vehicle that has been operated is clean, and that all personal items are removed at the end of the shift
  • Make sound decisions in preventing hazards to self, and co-workers
  • Report all hazards, injuries, found damage and near misses to immediate supervisor
  • Report any team member who does not adhere to company's policies or vehicle handling procedure
  • Other duties as assigned
