The yard manager assistant will support the yard manager in daily operations, which includes managing inventory, and ensuring safety and cleanliness of the buildings and yard. Key roles involve assisting with material handling, operating equipment like forklifts, and equipment maintenance. This person must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have a strong communication and organization skills.

Requirements

• Strong verbal communication skills
• Must demonstrate problem solving skills, mechanical aptitude, good work habits, and self-motivation
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment that requires multitasking while maintaining a high level of organization
• Ability to perform well as a team
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
• Driver's License and clean driving record
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of commonly used industry concepts, practices, and procedures preferred
• Construction industry experience

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Yard Manager
• Clean and maintain yard area and equipment
• Operate equipment to stack, load and retrieve supplies and materials
• Document and maintain inventory
• Exercise good judgment regarding unloading and operation
• Work closely with the field crews and managers
• Other tasks as needed
• Yard safety
