POSITION SUMMARY The Yard Jockey will be responsible for assisting operations in an active trailer yard, performing a variety of duties including operating a spotter truck. This role reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is based out of our Hendersonville, North Carolina location.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid “Class-C” Driver’s License required
One year of experience as a yard jockey operator required

Nice To Haves

Experience in the food/beverage industry (a plus)
Previous experience in Manufacturing or production environment (a plus)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task
Proven organizational skills

Responsibilities

Correctly confirms the safe operational condition of vehicles and/or equipment before and after use
Ensure vehicles and/or equipment and seal inspections
Work with dispatch and warehouse staff regarding communicating, sequencing, and movement coordination
Safely operate material handling equipment to load or unload materials and ensure proper closure of the trailer as necessary
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the trailer yard through meticulous attention to detail and daily yard audits
Accountable for food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements for their position
Encouraged to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues
Adopt and maintain all SQF requirements for their position
Empowerment to work with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within their scope of work
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
