Main Ingredients of the Job As a US FOODS® Yard Jockey you will be critical to the US FOODS® team. You will be responsible for moving trailers to and from dock doors based on instructions from supervisors or the shipping office while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. Always ensure cleanliness and adequate fueling of trailers. Communicate with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments Keep assigned equipment coupled Move trailers between buildings as directed by Router or Warehouse Supervisor Load, unload or merge loads between environments Stage shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers Set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets Place backhauls in correct door to be unloaded by warehouse Make sure all equipment is paired and ready for next day's deliveries. Work with mechanics nightly Must attend all required company meetings. All other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license issued by the state of residence
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of six months CDL commercial driving experience preferred
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations

Responsibilities

  • Moving trailers to and from dock doors based on instructions from supervisors or the shipping office
  • Following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures
  • Ensuring cleanliness and adequate fueling of trailers
