About The Position

The Yard Hostler is responsible for safely moving tractor trailers to and from loading docks and parking areas, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This role involves interacting with customers and co-workers professionally while performing essential duties to support the food distribution system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
• Valid Driver's License
• 6+ months of Yard Hostler/Switching experience required
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Pass Road test

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years of Yard Hostler/Switching experience required
• Have a valid Class A license
• Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e., PeopleNet)

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies.
• Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks.
• Transports tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving.
• Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always. Completes all required documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
