Are you self-motivated and able to work effectively in small teams? We are hiring a Planet Helper for our Aggregates team in Colorado. If you have a strong safety mindset, we want to hear from you! You will perform essential manual and operational tasks to support the safe and efficient operation of an aggregate plant. Your responsibilities include routine duties like material handling, equipment operation, maintenance, safety inspections, and teamwork to meet daily production goals, all while adhering to company and regulatory safety standards.

Requirements

  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and shovels
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and in small teams
  • Willing and able to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends
  • This is a safety sensitive position, offers of employment are conditional on successful completion of fitness for duty assessments, including drug and alcohol screening and a criminal background check
  • Travel to various job sites required as needed, less than 10%
  • Regular work outdoors exposed to varied weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow
  • Frequent sitting and use of fine motor skills such as manual dexterity, hand / eye coordination, and active hearing and vision
  • Occasional standing, walking, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, and pushing or pulling as needed
  • Regular exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smoke, gases, fumes, and aggregate materials
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, vests, and glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats, with additional PPE for tasks like welding or repairs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aggregate industry and welding skills are a plus
  • Experience operating heavy machinery in a plant environment is preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine tasks such as shoveling gravel, dust control, yard cleanup, machinery inspections, loading / unloading, inventory storage, and general facility housekeeping
  • Support equipment operators as needed
  • Operate machinery safely and efficiently
  • Conduct minor maintenance and basic repairs on equipment
  • Use various hand tools to complete daily work requirements
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational priorities and assist with cross-training in other roles
  • Help maintain a safe, hazard-free work environment through regular housekeeping and maintenance tasks
  • Walk the plant regularly to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and completed repairs
  • Complete required documentation, report operational issues to the Foreman, and identify opportunities for plant improvements
  • Adhere to all safety policies, including MSHA and company regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
