About The Position

A Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of yard personnel to ensure smooth operations. This role focuses on maintaining high standards of customer service while overseeing the safe and efficient handling, movement, and organization of goods and equipment within the premises. The Foreman ensures compliance with safety regulations, optimizes workflow, and supports team members in carrying out their duties effectively

Requirements

  • Reports to the location manager
  • Lifting up to 150 lbs. as needed
  • Might require occasional local travel of Southeastern Wisconsin

Responsibilities

  • Directs workers in loading, unloading and movement of materials on the premises utilizing material handling equipment and machinery
  • Oversees receiving of yard materials and instructs yard workers in receiving and storage procedures
  • Inspects loading operations for outgoing delivery to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, load limits and safety regulations.
  • Prepares and reconciles bills of lading and packing slips
  • Ensures all forklift inspections are performed daily
  • Provides on-the-job training to new yard employees including product knowledge of items stored in yard and warehouse and housekeeping and safety procedures.
  • Performs same work as other yard employees
  • Ensures outside areas are kept neat and clean and scraps and yard debris are appropriately recycled or disposed and reports safety hazards and handles remedial action
  • Responsible for following and enforcing all safety rules and policies as outlined by and communicated by Bliffert Lumber management
  • Protects company values by keeping financial information and plans confidential
  • Act as our store’s representative and provides exceptional customer service
  • Reports injuries immediately to Manager
  • Additional job responsibilities to be determined by Manager
