Requirements

  • Valid medical card as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration and a valid state specific Commercial Drivers License, Class A.
  • Minimum of one year verified experience operating a tractor trailer.
  • Experience with dock setup reports and completing status reports during work shift.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull and carry product to reposition on trailers.
  • Handle exposure to extreme temperatures of -20 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, twist, and reach as required.

Responsibilities

  • Sets tractor trailer combinations for loading product scheduled for delivery.
  • Starts refrigeration units; checks units periodically.
  • Pulls loaded trailers away from dock and secures trailer doors.
  • Coordinates loading schedules with warehouse supervisors.
  • Ensures trucks have received pre-trip inspection prior to driver departure.
  • Notifies drivers of potential late load situations.
  • Ensures returning trucks are refueled, if necessary.
  • Assists warehouse personnel with unloading/cleaning trailers.
  • Operates powered industrial equipment such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts, as necessary.
  • Shuttles trucks to and from truck rental facilities if necessary.
  • Supplies the warehouse operations with trailers for loading adhering to specific requirements from retailers.
  • Docks back haul trailers as needed for the warehouse operations.
  • Maintains proper trailer temperatures for refrigeration units at all times.
  • Monitors trailer temperatures of perishable back haul trailers.
  • Deadlines trailers due to mechanical problems and notifies the appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Performs other duties as necessary and required.
