POSITION SUMMARY:The Yard Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trucks and trailers within the yard, ensuring that they are properly positioned for loading, unloading, and storage. Additionally, the Yard Driver will support with daily operations throughout the DC when yard tasks are completed.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Safely maneuver and position trailers within the yard using a yard spotter truck.Conduct inspections of yard spotter trucks and trailers to ensure they are in good working condition.Keep the yard organized by ensuring trailers are parked in designated areas and maintaining clear access paths.Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.Report any mechanical issues or damage to trailers/trucks.Become proficient in using Red Prairie Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF Scanners to track inventory and materials.Maintain forklift certification and safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) to move products within the Distribution Center (DC).Load and unload trailers using PITs and manually (hand loading).Pull, deliver, and stage materials needed for distribution, ensuring they are correct and delivered to the appropriate area.Always ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to hygiene practices and maintaining safety standards.Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) to ensure quality and compliance.Demonstrate flexibility by rotating through different Material Handler functions as needed.Communicate any inventory discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.Safely use power equipment such as forklifts, hand tools, electric/manual pallet jacks, order picker forklifts, turrets and other devices within the warehouse.Must be able to travel vertically in the air up to 32 feet high.Additional duties as assignedPHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Regularly/Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.
