About The Position

The Yard Driver is primarily responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the company needs. Requirements

Knowledge of DOT rules, regulations and other DOT compliance requirements.
Ability to safely and efficiently utilize a yard truck to maneuver trailers in small spaces and throughout the yard.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Able to effectively manage competing priorities and tasks.
Ability to operate tractor with 53’ trailer on various roads and highways throughout designated regions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Valid Class A CDL license.
A clean driving record with no major accidents and no alcohol or drug convictions.
At least 1 year all-weather driving experience is required.
Minimum 1 year yard jockey experience is required.
Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.
Must be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment with Bob’s.

Responsibilities

Maintaining a neat and orderly lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the company needs.
Completing local deliveries as needed.
Operate Yard Truck to maneuver and park large, oversized loads.
Responsible for accounting for records involving container numbers.
Must function and interact daily with distribution center personnel and comply with safety requirements.
Communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with dispatch, operations, and personnel.
Move trailers in and out of bays, inspect new deliveries and provide support where needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and practice safe work habits per company policies.
Wear and proper use of personal protective equipment.
Maintain compliance with ELD, vehicle condition reports, and all other aspects of DOT compliance.
Keep updated on current DOT rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
