The position involves driving a tractor-trailer, maneuvering into position to attach trailers, and handling lines to secure them. The driver is responsible for cleaning and spotting trailers to specified doors or lot locations, inspecting trailers for defects, and submitting inspection reports indicating the condition of the trailers. Additionally, the driver must inspect loaded trailers to ensure that the product is secure for undamaged transport and that the refrigeration unit is functioning properly, reporting any issues to the Operations Manager or Warehouse Lead. The role requires driving the tractor-trailer within the yard or within short distances outside of the yard, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skills in maneuvering on the road and on company premises. The driver must also meet the physical demands of the position and be willing to select, load, unload, and deliver all products ordered by customers.
