Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of one year verifiable experience driving, switching or commercial tractor.

Responsibilities

• Transporting and switching trailers to and from assigned areas.
• Re-fueling and maintaining yard switch equipment to ensure proper working order.
• Driving switching equipment, tractors, and straight trucks to transport goods or equipment to and from designated locations.
• Making decisions in sequencing schedule to maintain efficient loading and unloading operations.
• Loading and unloading trailers and verifying product count.
• Maintaining a clean and safe docking area and reporting any maintenance or safety issues to supervision.
• Refueling vehicles on site and documenting locations and condition of equipment.
• Maintaining safe and efficient dock operation by switching trailers and equipment to and from docks.
• Performing daily yard checks.
• Properly securing loads, ensuring loads are within local, state and federal guidelines.
• Preparing and maintaining accurate records and/or logs as required by policies and procedures.
• Inspecting truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
• Notifying supervision of current or anticipated repair needs.
• Complying with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
