About The Position

The role involves driving switching equipment, tractors, and straight trucks to transport goods or equipment to and from designated locations. The individual will make decisions regarding the sequencing schedule to maintain efficient loading and unloading operations. Responsibilities include loading and unloading trailers, verifying product counts, maintaining a clean and safe docking area, and reporting any maintenance or safety issues to supervision. Additionally, the role requires refueling vehicles on site and documenting the locations and condition of equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of one year verifiable experience driving, switching or commercial tractor

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and efficient dock operation by switching trailers and equipment to and from docks.
• Maintain equipment fuel levels and refuel equipment during appropriate times.
• Load and unload trucks, verifying the count and condition of product. Report overages, shortages, and damages.
• Perform daily yard checks.
• Properly secure loads, ensuring loads are within local, state and federal guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and/or logs as required by policies and procedures.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water. Notify supervision of current or anticipated repair needs.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
