Your success is what's next with Custom Truck One Source. We have a great opportunity for a Yard Attendant in our Wilkes-Barre, PA location! Located at 300 Johnson Ave., Wilkes-Barre 18702 Summary This position is responsible for the operation, staging, loading and unloading of heavy and light duty trucks and equipment. The position also consists of maintaining the appearance of the yard/branch, assisting mechanics, drivers or other staff with various labor-based tasks and completing other daily assignments that support the branch operations.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Adapting to changing work priorities
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be self-sufficient and driven.
  • Communicate and convey information effectively.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have a strong attendance record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL B) with a clean driving record preferred or willingness to obtain a Class B CDL.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Knowledge of utility and/or vocation vehicles and familiarity with operating systems including but not limited to, booms, buckets, diggers, cable reels, hi-rail, Dump Trucks, Roll Offs and track vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Quickly and safely evaluate and identify the needed materials, tooling, and steps necessary to finish the needed task.
  • Inspect parts, equipment or vehicles for cleanliness, damage and compliance with standards.
  • Detail and clean trucks to prepare them for shipping/delivery.
  • Load and unload equipment and vehicles plus check for any damage.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the building, yard, and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory in yard and oversee incoming/outgoing vehicles.
  • Test drive equipment if necessary.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
