About The Position

Heritage Landscape Supply Group is seeking a full time Yard Associate position will focus on duties such as stocking the yard area, warehouse areas, shipping and receiving of products, loading/unloading trucks and counter sales duties as well. The workweek is Monday through Saturday, with an opportunity for overtime during the busy season. Pay range: $20.00 to $22.00 an hour This role will have hybrid duties of yard duties along with counter sales, entering orders at counter.

Requirements

  • Basic computer knowledge and Internet use
  • Forklift Operator experience
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds; 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is helpful, but not required
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test/background screening

Responsibilities

  • Operating heavy-duty front-end loaders to load customers and move materials.
  • Stocking, receiving, pulling, and staging all yard/warehouse products.
  • Loading, unloading, and securing product for customers, delivery vehicles, and inbound trucks.
  • Keeping yard area neat and organized.
  • Operating Forklifts and front-end loaders in outdoor environments.
  • Focusing on safe work practices, such as wearing PPE, proper lifting techniques, etc., while performing daily duties and using company equipment.
  • Other related duties as assigned such as receiving etc.
  • Entering orders at the point of sale using the company computer system
  • Interacting with customers over the phone, via email, and in-person
  • Greet customers with a friendly attitude
  • Basic computer and phone skills
  • Communicate to customers the correct product for their application
  • Communicate to customers how the material is priced and sold
  • Create Sales Orders
  • Create Quotes to estimate the cost of projects, quantities of material needed from customer measurements
  • Efficient scheduling of truck deliveries
  • Clear communication between manager, employees, and clients
  • Being honest, courteous, and respectful to customers & employees at all times
  • Maintain and assist to keep a clean work environment
  • Learn basic knowledge of products available to customers
  • Inform management of products/special order material customers need
  • Assist with Inventory Cycle Counts
  • Order picking/staging/Replenishment
  • Shipping/Receiving
  • Loading/unloading delivery vehicles
  • Other related duties as assigned
