Forge & Build is hiring a Yard Associate at our rental facility in Remus, MI, and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction.
The Yard Associate is responsible for maintaining daily yard operations and standards, ensuring an excellent customer experience while upholding safety standards throughout the yard at all times.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and offers overtime pay after working 40 hours. (This role is subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation provided)

Requirements

• Ability to operate and maintain all equipment and vehicles in the yard, strictly adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
• Strong collaborative and autonomous work ethic; supports a teamwork mindset and is self-driven with an entrepreneurial mindset for continuous knowledge growth.
• Detail-oriented, ensuring the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned, with the ability to proactively solve problems.
• Adaptable and agile to quickly learn new and changing technologies and processes.
• Embodies the EquipmentShare mission and culture and adheres to all company employee policies.
• Already possess or be willing to obtain a chauffer's license.
• Regular and reliable attendance is mandatory.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with providing a great customer experience.
• Basic math proficiency for calculating quantities and ensuring accurate inventory counts.
• Proven organizational, time management, detail-orientation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective and consistent communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Ability to adapt quickly, thrive, and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have an inherent desire to learn, develop, and strive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage yard inventory control and procedures, including staging, loading, unloading, shipping, receiving, cycle counts, and transfers. Ensure all loads are accurate and delivered promptly.
• Maintain a safe, hazard-free, and organized yard in accordance with company standards. This includes general yard and building cleanup, routine inspections, maintenance, repairs, and equipment cleaning.
• Ensure all safety requirements and training are completed.
• Deliver a high standard of customer experience.
• Communicate issues that could impact the business to the Store Manager in a timely and effective manner.
• Assist with various other duties as assigned by the Yard Supervisor or Store Manager
