Yard and Customer Service Associate Kingsport, TN General Shale, Inc. , the nation’s leading brick and masonry materials manufacturer, is seeking a Yard and Customer Service Associate to join our Kingsport, TN location. This position is ideal for a safety-focused, hands-on professional who enjoys working outdoors, operating heavy equipment, and providing excellent customer service and sales support in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Requirements

2+ years of forklift operation and/or yard or warehouse experience preferred
Previous customer service or sales support experience preferred
Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)
Basic computer skills; SAP experience a plus
Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong work ethic and team-oriented approach

Responsibilities

Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks with brick and masonry materials
Stage, move, and organize product throughout the yard
Assist customers with product selection, pickup orders, and walk-in sales
Provide friendly, solution-oriented customer service to support sales growth
Process orders and assist with counter sales as needed
Maintain yard organization, cleanliness, and safe traffic flow
Perform routine equipment inspections and follow all safety procedures
Support inventory accuracy and cycle counts
Enter basic order and inventory information into SAP
Coordinate with dispatch and the sales team to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
