The position involves performing various duties including physical inventories, audits, research, reporting, and cycle counting to maintain the integrity and accuracy of inventory records. The role requires identifying inventory discrepancies and communicating issues to management, counting materials and products, auditing inventory activity, investigating inventory accuracy problems, and effectively communicating with employees and management levels.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • Ability to read and write in the English language.
  • Thorough knowledge of basic arithmetic.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work both as a team member and independently.
  • Mathematical aptitude with basic accounting knowledge.
  • Computer experience with e-mail, MS Excel, and Word applications.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as printer and copier.
  • Related knowledge of inventory systems.
  • Flexibility in work schedule for possible overtime, work on holidays, weekends, and extended hours.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical inventories, audits, research, reporting, and cycle counting to maintain inventory records.
  • Identify inventory discrepancies and communicate issues to management.
  • Count materials and products, identifying variances by comparing physical counts to inventory records.
  • Audit inventory activity for appropriate general ledger reporting.
  • Investigate inventory accuracy problems and monitor selected storage locations.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and management, suggesting options to eliminate issues.
  • Provide training supporting inventory accuracy to operational and retail employees.
  • Maintain records, reports, and updates to inventory control database.
  • Operate warehouse equipment including fork trucks or aerial platform to perform inventory counts.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Work on large- or small-scale projects, including testing of inventory related upgrades.
  • Be flexible and available for overtime and alternate shifts as needed.
