Halvik is actively seeking developer with Schematron/XSLT expertise to assist in automating or enhancing workflows for Congressional Bills, Resolutions, and Amendments, as well as other publications in the future.

  • Study input and output bulk data (starting with Bills and Resolutions but extending to other publication types) to identify places where Schematron rules should be created, or existing ones should be refined.
  • Develop pipelines and other technological infrastructure to enable Schematron schemas to be integrated into other systems (e.g., deployment of SchXslt to create on-demand SVRL reports).
  • Curate and operate tests and test suites that measure the accuracy and efficiency of Schematron tests and their underlying XSLT functions and stylesheets.
  • Participate in developing, or co-developing, XSLT functions and stylesheets.
  • Expertise in Schematron, XSLT (minimally version 2.0, ideally 3.0), XPath, XML, regular expressions, and at least one structural schema language (DTD, XML Schema, RELAX-NG).
  • Experience with the Unicode standard, one or more languages for scripting workflows (e.g., batch, Shell, Ant, XProc), and one or more object-oriented programming languages.
  • Software competence: Oxygen XML Editor, Git or other XML/publishing tools.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in IT.
