About The Position

Now Hiring: X-Ray Technician $24 - $28 per hour Join the team at Eck Industries, a leading aluminum foundry in Manitowoc, WI. We are seeking hands-on, detail-oriented individuals to support our X-Ray Lab in inspecting our precision aluminum castings. Our cast components are used in aerospace, defense, and other cutting-edge industries, where accuracy and craftsmanship are essential. As an X-Ray Technician, you will be responsible for performing detailed inspections of castings using x-ray radiation and advanced radiographic imaging techniques. In this role, you will evaluate internal structures to detect defects or irregularities, ensuring all components comply with customer requirements, quality standards, and established work instructions. Your work plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity, safety, and reliability by verifying that each casting meets precise specifications before it moves forward in the production process.

Requirements

  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred (but we’ll train the right person!).
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Good attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable working with your hands in an active environment.
  • Candidates must complete sufficient formal training to demonstrate proficiency in the principles and practices of the applicable radiographic test methods and techniques. Training may be completed prior to or in conjunction with hands-on, on the job training.
  • Ability to competently perform essential job duties in accordance with approved procedures and certification requirements.
  • Must meet applicable certification and qualification standards for the assigned technician level.

Responsibilities

  • Operate x-ray equipment to inspect castings in accordance with approved work instructions and customer requirements.
  • Set up, fixture, standardize, and perform routine system performance checks on x-ray units.
  • Interpret radiographic images and evaluate results for acceptance or rejection as authorized by certification level.
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain required inspection records.
  • Apply applicable codes, standards, and contractual specifications during inspections.
  • Review and follow work instructions to determine product specifications, tooling requirements, and inspection sequences.
  • Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, including positioning parts, setting exposure parameters, capturing images, and performing minor maintenance.
  • Interpret radiographic images to make accept/reject decisions in accordance with customer specifications, codes, and standards; document and report results.
  • Perform and document required process checks, equipment inspections, and calibration verification while adhering to radiation safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area in compliance with 6S standards and perform additional duties as assigned.
